On the XX we will be hosting our New Parent Information Evening. Parent and carers of new students joining the college in September 2022, are invited to attend.
There are a range of sessions to choose from to allow you to personalise your evening to suit you.
You must register to attend the event using the sign-up link at the bottom of the page.
You will choose three sessions to attend.
After you sign-up, you will receive your personalised timetable for the evening, via email.

Hear from our Principal Anton McGrath, as he talks to you about the college and introduces you to who we are and what makes studying at Ashton so unique.
University preparation – Realising Aspirations programme
Tuesday 27th April, 5:30-6:30pm
The Realising Aspirations programme is unique to Ashton and aims to give students a better understanding of what it is really like to go to university. Students attend seminars and lectures by leading lecturers in their field, and also go on trips to universities across the country. This webinar will talk through how the programme works and how students benefit.
Inclusive Learning support
Thursday 29th April, 5:30-6:30pm
This webinar is led by our Inclusive Learning (IL) Manager and will look at the range of support available to those students who have specific learning needs. IL work with students to remove any barriers to learning they may face and can really make a difference to students’ lives.
Faith at Ashton
Tuesday 4th May, 5:30-6:30pm
We have a multi-faith chaplaincy at Ashton, for people of all faiths and none. In this webinar, the College Chaplain will talk about their role within our college community, and explore the faith facilities available to all students and staff.
Pastoral support and the college timetable
Thursday 6th May, 5:30-6:30pm
This webinar is led by our Senior Tutor team and will cover how the tutorial programme works to support students throughout their college journey. They will also explain how the college timetable works for different study programmes.
Careers support and progression
Tuesday 11th May, 5:30-6:30pm
At Ashton we have dedicated careers advisers who support students in making their next steps. The tutorial programme also has built in elements that ensure students are able to make informed decisions about their futures, whether that be university, apprenticeships or employment.
XL
Thursday 13th May, 5:30-6:30pm
The XL Programme supports high achieving students and this webinar, led by our XL Manager, will talk about how the programme works. They will look at the bespoke tutorial programme and talk about some of the unique opportunities available to XL students.
The Extended Project Qualification
Tuesday 18th May, 5:30-6:30pm
The EPQ is an additional qualification, equivalent to 1 AS Level, that allows students to develop their personal interest in a topic or area. This webinar will explore the benefits of taking the EPQ and how it helps students applying to university and apprenticeships.
Student Mental Health
Wednesday 19th May, 5:30-6:30pm
College can be a complex time for many students. Our on-site counsellors are available to listen and provide a confidential service for those with personal or emotional problems. In this webinar, our on-site counsellors will talk about the support available at Ashton.
Getting ready for college
Thursday 20th May, 5:30-6:30pm
Hear from our Admissions Team as they explain what happens next in the Admissions process, and what students should be doing now to prepare for joining the college in August.
Enrichment, sport and extra curricular

Enrichment is a huge part of college life and our students get to experience a range of opportunities while studying at Ashton. This webinar will look at the range of enrichment available, including sport, guest speakers, trips, visits, societies and clubs.
A Parent’s Perspective

As parents and carers we know that this next stage of education is important to both you and the student. Parents of our current students share their experiences and answer your questions.
